"Follow the people!"
My last night in Berlin, Shana and I were returning to our host's flat for the night on the metro when a voice came over the intercom and all of a sudden everyone got off the train. Not understanding what was announced in German, we easily deducted that we should also get off the train. The issue was, we were dropped in an area we were not familiar with, so, we simply followed the crowd of people to a bus stop a few meters away. We rode the bus for a few stops, when all of a sudden, everyone got off the bus. There was no announcement this time, everyone just got off. So I approached the bus driver, and asked if the bus would take us to our stop. He shook his head, muttering something in German, the only word of which I caught was U-bahn (the metro) and then smiled, pointed to the crowd who had just exited the bus and said "Follow the people!"
Berlin Panorama and other images
While in Berlin, I went to the top of the dome of the Berlin Cathedral and took some panoramic photos of the city.
Pergamon Museum
The Pergamon Museum on Museum Island in Berlin is very unique and a must-see while in the city. Unlike most museums where the museum is built and filled with artifacts, in the case of the Pergamon Museum, the many of the artifacts were first placed and the museum was subsequently constructed. Because of this, there are actually entire buildings inside the building of the museum. Photos inside the museum are difficult to take because of the limited space, but the following images can give you an idea of what I mean..
Berlin Wall East Side Gallery
After the Berlin Wall fell, part of the wall in East Berlin was preserved an turned into a gallery of murals and graffiti..
